Kathmandu celebrates International Day of Girl Child- eNewsCover
eNEWSCover, Oct 4, 2013, Kathmandu. With the motto “Innovating for Girls’ Education”, Thursday capital city enjoyed a cycling rally which lengthened from Basantapur Durbar Square to Patan Durbar Square. Kathmandu prematurely celebrated the International Day of Girl Child that would fall in October 11, 2013. Amidst of rainfall from early morning, hundreds of girls and youths gathered for the rally. Chief Secretary Lila Mani Poudel, Sujita Maskey and actress Namrata Shrestha attended the closing ceremony. Namrata exchanged her on-screening movie “Maun” T-shirt with the organizers ‘Innovating for girls’ education’ labelled.

“International Day of Girl Child” committee in partnership with Kathmandu Cycle City 2020, Cycle City Network Nepal organized a cycle rally with the theme “Girls Empowerment”. Chief Secretary of Government of Nepal Lilamani Paudyal himself became a participant to the rally to add more efficiency in the event.
Cycle City Network Nepal managed the rally to happen successfully in midst of October rain.
The closing event had presence ofMaun director Suraj Bhusal and actress Namrata Shrestha to support the rally. Hand painting from participants and beam of diyo made end to the event.

ईन्यूजकभर काठमाडौँ, १७ असोज । विश्व बालिका दिवस २०१३ को अवसरमा आज काठमाडौँमा साइकल यात्राको आयोजना गरिएको छ । ‘नविनता बालिकाहरुको शिक्षाका लागि’ भन्ने मुल नाराका साथ बसन्तपुरबाट सुरु भएको साइकल यात्रा पाटन पुगेर सकिएको थियो । काठमाडौं साइकल सिटी २०२० ले आयोजना गरिएको उक्त साइकल यात्रामा बिहानै देखि पानी परे पनि सयौं बालिका तथा युवायुवतीहरुको बाक्लो उपस्थिति थियो । यात्रा समापन कार्यक्रममा मुख्य सचिव लीलामणि पौडेल, सुजिता मास्के साथै शहरमा अनस्कृन रहेकी नायिका नम्रता श्रेष्ठको पनि सहभागिता थियो । नम्रताले फरक भुमिका निभाएको म्यूट फिल्म मौन शहरका थिएटरहरुमा प्रदर्शनमा छ । उनले आफ्नो अनस्कृन चलचित्र मौन अंकित टिसर्ट अयोजकको ‘नविनता बालिकाहरुको शिक्षाको लागि’ भन्ने नारा अंकित टिसर्टसँग साटेकी थिइन् ।

Namrata Shrestha Looking Gorgeous At Kathmandu Cycle City Rally!! - LexLimbu.com

Here’s someone I never grow tired of observing! Maun actress Namrata Shrestha looked gorgeous at the cycle rally organised by Cycle City Network Nepal in Kathmandu on Thursday morning. The event by Cycle City Network Nepal was held not only to promote cycling culture in the city and lobby the government to make Kathmandu a cycle friendly city by 2020 but also to mark the rapidly approaching International Day of the Girl Child. The rally led by an army of young women had a strong focus on ‘Innovating for Girls Education’. The cycle rally kicked off at 8AM in the morning from Basantapur and concluded at Patan Durbar Square.
And of course, who better to have than Namrata Shrestha to attend the event. The resilient actress had been busy for the past month filming November Rain alongside Nepali cinemas heart throb Aryan Sigdel in Dharan. Since her return to Kathmandu, Namrata has been trying her best to promote Maun and was also spotted at QFX Cinemas watching her recently released film with the general public.
